This 2006 Balletto Zinfandel pours a beautiful medium garnet red with aromas of juicy red berries, mulberries, black pepper & cream. Not too heavy and not too light, this is a great wine if you are just beginning to enjoy all that the Zinfandel category has to offer. With its bright fruit flavors of pomegranate, red berries and hints of vanilla & oak, this Zinfandel has a soft and smooth texture with velvety tannins.

When Balletto planted the vines for this wine they grafted tiny buds brought from vines at the famed Papera Vineyard; often referred to as the "grand dame" of the Russian River Valley. The buds came from the Papera vines planted in 1934, so although the Balletto vines were only six years old when this 2006 Zinfandel was made, the wine still has a rich history and a long and distinct track record.

This is truly a great wine to be enjoyed with your favorite barbecued meats or pizzas and pastas with marinara sauce.
